For what type of crop do we recommend using Seramis granulated clay?

These clay granules work very well in recirculation systems where the water pump is permanently running. It never gets waterlogged and there is no risk of suffocation.

It is advisable to water less when transplanting, for example, in a rock clay block, and to increase the watering little by little. It is recommended to transplant into a pot that can hold between 5 and 15 liters of Seramis expanded clay, depending on the type of plant and the duration of the crop.

You should know about expanded clay…

They are clay balls, round or irregular (depending on the brand), which come from clay that expands and forms porous balls that are a great hydroponic substrate.

They have been used for years due to their availability and the fact that they have a neutral pH and are reusable. However, they are a heavy substrate and dry out sooner than growers expect because they hold almost no water.

The gardener who uses expanded clay must be careful with watering to avoid problems. Expanded clay comes in various granulometries and can be used alone or as part of a mix, usually mixed with coconut fiber.
