Rockwool plugs are a rooting system for cuttings and seed germination.
Rockwool plugs are available in different sizes and are supplied in a plastic tray for proper functioning.
Rockwool plugs measure 3.5 x 3.5 x 4 cm or 2.5 x 2.5 x 4 cm and are supplied in a plastic tray. This small plug is primarily used for taking cuttings, although it can also be used for sowing.
Once the cutting has rooted, this plug can be transplanted directly onto the 7.5×7.5×6.5cm rock wool plugs.

More information about the rock wool tray:
Rock wool is basically rock that has been melted down and from which fibres similar to fibreglass are obtained. It provides good water retention and aeration in the root zone. The controversy generated by its use and its consequences for health have made it a substrate that is increasingly used less to the detriment of the others.
Rock wool is an excellent substrate for gardeners who grow their crops on blocks or slabs of rock wool. It is also a suitable substrate for plants that will be transplanted to Hydroton, mapito and perlite. It is a neutral medium with pH 7 that must be watered with water at pH 5.5 before use.
Preparing the trays Prepare a solution of water with pH 5.5 in a carrier tray and then immerse the tray so that the blocks are soaked in the solution. Drain the tray and you can now sow the seeds. If you are going to root cuttings, you should add Algamax to this solution to improve rooting (it is recommended to use rooting hormone).
