Parasitic wasps against scale insects that appear in the form of mummies mixed with sawdust, from which the wasps emerge. Anagyrus pseudococci is effective against various types of scale insects and is most effective when the temperature is around 25 ºC. The lower temperature limit for activity is 13 ºC and the upper limit is 38 ºC.
Two to three weeks after release (depending on temperature), parasitized scale insects are identified, which swell up, becoming hard, yellow-brown mummies. The parasitic wasp emerges through a small hole in the mummy.
Adults have an average lifespan of about 30-40 days and females can lay up to 15 eggs per day.
