Hydro Rokz is made from high-quality expanded clay and coco peat. It contains a very low concentration of elements and this makes it ideal as a substrate for hydroponics. The quality of the clay is largely determined by the pH value.
Clay balls or arlite are used for various cultivation methods. They are sometimes placed at the bottom of the pot when growing in soil substrate, to facilitate water drainage.
Hydro Rokz can be mixed into the substrate to make the growing medium more aerated, so that the roots can also branch better. Another widely used method is to grow the plants directly in Hydro Rokz, this is often done in combination with an oxygen pump. In this way, the roots at the bottom of the pot are constantly immersed in water mixed with liquid fertilizer, and the air pump provides sufficient oxygen for the roots.
Hydroponic cultivation with Hydro Rokz is very successful, because the clay balls and the flowing water nutrient solution are a golden duo when it comes to an abundant supply of oxygen. The plants get oxygen from above and below. The flowing water contains many times more oxygen than still tap water.
