Silicon is a very beneficial plant nutrient, and is found in virtually all soil types, but not (at least not yet) in hydroponic nutrient solutions. Silicon will strengthen cell walls and produce healthier, stronger plants with massive root systems and increased resistance to pests and diseases. Silicon is basic (has a high pH) and can therefore be used very effectively to raise the pH of hydroponic nutrient solutions.

Silicon plays an important role in the uptake and transport of mineral nutrients. Recent research has shown that applying Liquid Silicon to nutrient solutions produces thicker, whiter, healthier root systems and increased yields.
