The engineering principles behind the DLI Open Reflector are the culmination of over a decade of research and development. The team works with a diverse group of some of the best horticulturists from around the world; each specializing in specific plant and variety production processes for the ornamental and commercial flower market. DLI (Dutch Lighting Innovations) has allowed these groups a new level of consistency, reliability and quality unmatched in the niche world of growing the finest flowers and plants on Earth.

DLI fixtures are manufactured to have the highest possible total reflectance across all wavelengths from 400-700nm, giving excellent PAR rendering. Integrated hemispherical reflectance is greater than 95% with no iridescence colors in the optics.

DLI reflectors are made from a coil of electrochemically illuminated high purity aluminum substrate, and begin with an anodized base layer that provides a hard support to minimize abrasion damage. The material is then vacuum treated with specially developed processes to maximize coating adhesion and vacuum coated with a super pure reflection layer of 99.99% pure aluminum.

These reflection layers are overlaid with a fine-tuned dual-layer oxide system for maximum visible reflection enhancement. This serves to increase the overall reflectivity provided by the metal layers and adds protection from damage.
