Solux introduces this 1000w dual-ended lamp fixture designed specifically for professional applications. Its Ref#600018 lamp offers the highest efficiency and highest PAR available in the horticultural industry.

The Solara is a high intensity, dual-ended horticultural lighting system. It combines a dual-ended enclosed reflector, made of Vega&Alanod MIRO aluminum, with a variable wattage ballast and a high pressure sodium bulb.

This powerful and versatile commercial grade system allows users to select the most appropriate light intensity for their particular setup. In addition, it can also be used with LEC bulbs.

Its reflector is made of a bright European aluminum enamel, with a 95% reflection, providing a focused downward emission that maximizes light intensity. This provides an ideal lighting canopy and even coverage.

Solara Fixture Features

Dimmer

This unit can dim from 600 to 1150W by simply adjusting the dial on the ballast itself. It can also be connected to the Solux Master Controller to control up to 160 fixtures via the RJ port on the unit.

Smart Step Technology

By turning the dial on the digital ballast you can reduce the output of a lamp when as much power is not needed. Simply turn the dial again to step back to full power.

Super Lumen

The Super Lumen feature on the Solara1000 will boost the output of the highest wattage lamp in the ballast for maximum lamp performance. The increase is approximately 10%.

Smart Start

This revolutionary feature, unique to our products, makes the GC Series Digital Ballast the safest and most reliable ballast when used in automated multi-lamp applications. When multiple units are connected to the same power circuit, our built-in ignition control software will completely balance the electrical draw by turning on one lamp at a time to prevent power surges and spikes that can overload the power circuit and circuit breaker systems. For even greater efficiency, this feature is activated in conjunction with our “Soft Start Technology”.

Soft Start Technology

Soft Start Technology extends lamp life by preventing lamp overload. When the ballast starts there will be a fixed 3 second delay before ignition. After ignition there will be a series of random 0-2 second delays before full brightness is reached after approximately 3-5 minutes. SoftStart technology is also activated by increasing and decreasing lamp power using the ‘Smart-Step’ function.

Re-ignition of hot lamp after mains failure:

The Solux Series Digital Ballast uses a timed re-ignition system which prevents the ballast from re-igniting a hot lamp after a power failure. If a hot lamp is detected, re-ignition will be delayed by 60 second intervals until the lamp has cooled sufficiently to re-ignite. Re-ignition is controlled by the ‘SmartStart Ignition Control’ software and ‘Soft Start Technology’.

Lamp Compatibility

The Solux Series Digital Ballast is suitable for use with all good quality HPS, Metal Halide and Ceramic Metal Halide (LEC) lamps. For a guaranteed perfect match and best results we recommend Solux horticultural lamps. Solux lamps are optimized for use with high efficiency electronic ballasts with adjustable output.

Automatic Frequency Adjustment

The Solux Series digital ballast automatically adjusts its output frequency to maintain a constant output regardless of input power fluctuations and aging lamps. This also prevents “lamp flicker.”

​Circuit Protection

The Solux Series digital ballast utilizes a sophisticated software controlled circuit interruption system not seen in other manufacturers’ ballasts. The system protects against a number of faults including: open circuit protection, short circuit protection, over voltage protection, low voltage protection, and high temperature protection. On power up the ballast performs a 3 second test of the circuit and in the event of a fault the ballast will go into protection mode to prevent damage to the ballast and lamp.

Operating Temperature

The unique housing design of the Solux Series Digital Ballasts acts as a superior heat sink which makes the ballast run extremely well without the need for internal fans.

RF Shielding

The Solux Series Digital Ballast has superior RF shielding with Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 10% meaning it will not interfere with television or radio equipment.

Quiet Operation

The Solux Series Digital Ballast has no noisy internal fans and is completely silent.

High Energy Efficiency

The Solux Series Digital Ballast is up to 30% more efficient than the standard magnetic ballast and produces more lumens of light per watt of energy consumed. Efficiency does not decrease and is maintained throughout the life of the unit.
