Protecting roots from pathogens is an important issue for all growers, whether in soil or hydroponics. Given the infinite care growers put into developing root systems, it is natural that they want to secure their investment. Pythium, Fusarium, Verticillium and other bacterial and fungal pathogens can cause irreparable damage to hydroponic systems, especially in hot weather when warm air encourages the spread of molds and damage can occur overnight.

There are “solutions” on the market, such as UV sterilizers and fungicides available in garden centers, but all of these options have drawbacks: cost, complexity of use, dubious results, toxicity of fungicides to people and the environment.

StreptoLogic is easier to use and less expensive. It does not require a biofilter, as the bacteria adhere directly to the roots.
