Its dimensions are 15 x 15 x 14.2cm and it is mainly used in 1 metre hydro trays and hydroponic systems such as ebb/flow systems, etc. It has a planting hole 38mm wide by 40mm deep.
The Big Block is a rock wool plug, what is rock wool?
It is currently the most used growing support in hydroponic cultivation along with coconut fibre. Its characteristics are: total pore space, readily available water, reserve water, aeration capacity, particle size distribution, wettability, cation exchange capacity and nutrient availability.
Before using any rock wool support, you must water it the day before with a nutrient solution with a pH of 5.2 or 5.3 so that it is stabilized at approximately pH 6.
