General problems in propagating cuttings
If your success rate in rooting cuttings is less than 95%, the most common reasons may be the following:
- You spray or water the plugs too much. Plugs in permanent contact with water.
- Sick mother plant
- The temperature of the propagator is too high or too low.
- Chloramine is a tap water disinfectant used in municipal water disinfection systems, this application is increasing and is replacing chlorine. It is also a toxin for plants. High chloramine levels will kill cuttings. Always use bottled or reverse osmosis water for propagation of cuttings.
