The Uvonair 1000 is recommended for rooms up to 30 m3, the Uvonair 3000 is recommended for rooms up to 90 m3, the Uvonair 5000 is recommended for rooms up to 150 m3.

How does ozone work and why should we use a Uvonair ozonizer?

Ozone is an unstable gaseous molecule (O3) that quickly transforms into O2, releasing an oxygen atom that is highly reactive. When this atom comes into contact with a virus or bacteria, it reacts with the cell membrane.

Initially, ozone attacks glycoproteins, glycolipids and certain amino acids such as Trypthopan in the bacterial membrane. It also affects certain groups of enzymes, creating a dysfunction in normal cellular activity. The death of the bacteria is very rapid because the ozone attack affects the cellular permeability of the bacteria.

If ozone comes into contact with a Volatile Organic Component (odors), the oxygen atom reacts with that compound, oxidizing it and transforming it into an odorless substance (usually H2O or CO2).

As this reaction occurs constantly, the amount of ozone present in the environment is constantly reduced until each ozone molecule returns to the bi-atomic form of oxygen, making it safe for the environment.

The ozone level will stabilize at a certain level that depends on the size of the room, air changes, temperature, bacteria/odors and reactivity of the surfaces. The life of ozone molecules does not exceed 20 or 30 minutes.
