Capsanem contains the entomopathogenic nematode Steinernema carpocapsae that parasitizes larvae of many pests, mainly lepidopteran larvae.

Once applied to plants, the nematodes actively seek out their prey and penetrate it. The nematodes feed on the contents of their prey and the larvae die within a few days. Use Capsanem as a curative method when the pest is observed. Apply by spraying on the plants with plenty of water, trying to wet the pest larvae. 500 million containers are also available.

How to use

• Take the container out of the refrigerator within half an hour so that it is at a temperature of 20ºC.
• Cut the contents of the sachet and place the smaller pieces in a bucket with five litres of water between 15 and 20ºC.
• Let the solution rest for about five minutes.
• Stir until all the mist has disappeared and put it in the spray tank.
• Use the solution immediately.

Different forms of application

• With a sprayer, watering can, irrigation system or motorised system.

1. Remove filters to avoid obstructions.
2. Use a maximum pressure of 12 bars.
3. The opening of the mesh must have an opening of 0.5 mm as minimum.
4. Constant mixing is required so that the nematodes do not remain at the bottom of the tank.

• Apply directly to the soil.

1. 0.5 million nematodes per m².
2. 3000 litres/hectare
3. Water the crop before and after application.
4. Spray evenly over the surface.
5. Keep the soil moist for two weeks after application.

• Foliar application.

1. 0.25 million nematodes / m² dissolved in 1250 litres/hectare
2. The use of a humectant is recommended to improve the effect
3. Spray the plants evenly with Capsanem.

• Application in orchards or fruit trees.

1. 1 million nematodes/m².
2. 5 to 10 liters per tree.
3. Do not apply on dry soils, always water them or after rain.
4. Keep the soil around the tree moist for two weeks after application.

• The dose of 50 million nematodes in the container is sufficient for 25 liters of water.
• The soil humidity must be high. Its temperature must be between 14 and 33ºC.
• Do not expose the product to direct sunlight. It is therefore recommended to apply it in the late afternoon.
• The shelf life of this product can be seen on the packaging, the expiration date.
• Store at a temperature of 2-6ºC and in a dark place.

The dose of 50 million nematodes in the packaging is sufficient for 25 litres of water.
