The VDL Luxmeter is a highly accurate and easy-to-use light meter.
The VDL Luxmeter has one of the highest relative sensitivity levels, which gives it an extraordinary detection capacity for wavelengths from less than 500 nm to over 650 nm.
It has a large LCD screen. Although this luxmeter is a highly accurate instrument, its construction in high quality materials will provide the user with many years of use.
The cable that connects the VDL Luxmeter to the photo-sensor allows the user to make measurements in a more comfortable position or in the optimal position with respect to the light source. The sensor has an opaque cover that prevents dirt from entering or being scratched and that in turn allows for proper calibration. Ranges: from 0 to 200,000 lux in 4 ranges.
The VDL lux meter is a reference instrument that tells us when to change the lamps in the crop. The user must take a measurement at the beginning of the crop, for example, 30 minutes after starting the equipment and at a distance of 30 centimeters and always in the same position and situation of the equipment. This reading will vary downwards in successive crops and the grower should change the lamp when the reading drops by 10-15% from the initial reading.

When should I change the sodium lamp on the VDL Luxmeter?
We recommend changing the lamp when the value of the production loss is greater than the value of a new lamp, i.e. around 50 Euros (for a 600W lamp). Professional nurserymen and indoor growers change the lamp for each crop. It is recommended to change the lamp every 2-3 crops at most.
