Aptus PCS 50 cultivation system

The Aptus PCS 50 growing system is a patented system, consisting of a 50L pot, along with five components: 

• A PCS core to guide the excess water with a high O2 content in the medium. This reaches an optimal depth to guarantee good root development and ensure the best growing conditions.
• The PCS grid allows a good level of oxygen to be maintained in the substrate, promoting root growth. This translates into better plant metabolism, greater growth, vigor and yield.
• The PCS base separates the plant from the soil, maintaining temperature stability in the medium and ensuring good water drainage.
• The PCS Liner allows for quick cleaning of the plant and the medium after the flowering phase. Prevents substrate from falling through the PCS net.
• PCS irrigation system, with a geometric and uniform spray pattern.

All components are made from ABS grade plastics with 316 stainless steel parts and have been tested with intensive finite element analysis (FEA) stress tests. 

Various studies and research on soil capacity and healthy lateral root growth have been used in the manufacture of all parts, resulting in a very precise irrigation system. 

APTUS has developed the APTUS/PCS concept as an economical and sophisticated alternative to traditional tabletop systems. The Aptus PCS system allows the grower to use all possible resources for optimal plant monitoring and care.

Tips for using the Aptus PCS system

The PCS misting system is constructed with ultrasonic welding. It is advised to use a 1 second resolution digital timer to be able to run custom irrigation profiles for maximum control of moisture and O2 content within the substrate and root zone. 

No matter how many pots are in a single system, always calculate 2500 LPH for the first spray ring plus a minimum of 1750 LPH for each additional spray ring. An undersized pump is not recommended as it will not reach the desired spray point that oxygenates the feed, but a pump can be oversized for a system.

The end user has the option to use the drain-to-waste or recirculating system with synthetic, organic, or both types of substrates and inputs.

Pumps or timers are not included in the system.
